This Privacy Policy describes how NyxArcana ("we", "us", or "our") collects, uses, and protects your information when you use NyxArcana mobile application ("the App"). By using the App, you agree to the collection and use of information as described in this policy.

We collect the following types of information to provide and improve the App:

• Account Information: Email address (required for account creation) and display name (optional).
• Tarot Reading Data: Card spreads, reading interpretations, saved readings, and any questions or context you provide for readings.
• Subscription and Payment Data: Payment information is collected and processed by Stripe. We store a Stripe customer ID linked to your account but do not directly store credit card numbers or full payment details.
• API Usage Metrics: We track usage data such as the number of AI interpretation requests to manage service limits and improve performance.
• Device Storage: The App stores reading data locally on your device using localStorage for offline access and performance.

Your information is used to:

• Create and manage your account.
• Save, load, and share your tarot readings.
• Generate AI-powered reading interpretations via the Nyx AI feature.
• Process subscription payments through Stripe.
• Monitor API usage and enforce service limits.
• Facilitate live reader/querent sessions between users.
• Improve the App and user experience.

The App relies on the following third-party services, each governed by their own privacy policies:

• Firebase (Google): Used for user authentication, database storage (Firestore and Realtime Database), and hosting. Data is stored on Google Cloud infrastructure. See the Firebase Privacy Policy.
• Stripe: Used for subscription payment processing. Stripe collects and stores payment information directly. See the Stripe Privacy Policy.
• OpenAI: Used to generate AI-powered tarot reading interpretations through the Nyx AI feature. When you use this feature, your card positions, reading context, and any questions you enter are sent to OpenAI for processing. OpenAI handles this data in accordance with their own Privacy Policy.

When you use the Nyx AI feature for reading interpretations, the following data is transmitted to OpenAI:

• Card names and positions within your spread.
• Card orientations (upright or reversed).
• Reading context and focus type (e.g., career, love, spiritual).
• Any questions or prompts you provide.

This data is sent solely to generate your reading interpretation. We do not send your email address, display name, or payment information to OpenAI.

The App supports live reading sessions between a reader and a querent (the person receiving the reading). During these sessions, reading data -- including card positions, spreads, and interpretations -- is shared in real time between both participants via Firebase Realtime Database. Session data is accessible only to the participants of that session.

The App does not directly use cookies. However, Firebase and other third-party services integrated into the App may use cookies or similar technologies as part of their standard operation. Please refer to their respective privacy policies for details.

• Cloud Storage: Account data and reading data are stored in Firebase Firestore and Realtime Database on Google Cloud infrastructure.
• Local Storage: Reading data is also stored locally on your device using the browser's localStorage mechanism.
• Retention: Account data is retained until you request its deletion. Reading data is stored indefinitely unless you delete it manually or request account deletion.

We do not sell, trade, or rent your personal information to third parties. Your data is shared only with the third-party services described above, and only to the extent necessary to provide the App's functionality.

You may request deletion of your account and associated data at any time by:

• Using the Delete Account feature within the App.
• Emailing us at support@nyxarcana.com.

Upon receiving a deletion request, we will remove your account data from our systems within a reasonable timeframe. Please note that some data may persist in backups for a limited period and that data already processed by third-party services (Stripe, OpenAI) is subject to their own retention policies.

If you are located in the European Economic Area (EEA), you have the following rights regarding your personal data:

• Access: Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
• Correction: Request correction of inaccurate or incomplete personal data.
• Deletion: Request deletion of your personal data.
• Portability: Request a copy of your data in a structured, machine-readable format.
• Objection: Object to the processing of your personal data under certain circumstances.

NyxArcana is not intended for use by children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we become aware that a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, we will take steps to delete that information promptly. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with personal data, please contact us at support@nyxarcana.com.

We take reasonable measures to protect your personal information, including the use of secure connections (HTTPS), Firebase security rules, and Stripe's PCI-compliant payment processing. However, no method of electronic transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last updated" date. We encourage you to review this policy periodically. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
